Set in the 1930s, a time when Britain is dangerously divided and suspicion and hatred are on the rise, the story sees Poirot face a serial killer known only as A.B.C. As the body count rises, the only clue is a copy of The ABC Railway Guide at each crime scene. Poirot's investigations are continuously thwarted by an enemy determined to outsmart him. If Poirot is to match his nemesis, then everything about him will be called into question: his authority, his integrity, his past and his identity.

  • 1. Episode 1
    An ageing Hercule Poirot is contacted by a killer who tours the country by train, leaving a copy of the ABC railway guide at the scene of each murder. As Poirot tries to investigate, he is humiliated by the police and taunted by the “faceless beast” of a murderer.
  • 2. Episode 2
    The ABC killer sends more letters promising to spill blood. Hercule's past, integrity and identity come into question while he fights a rising tide of xenophobia.
  • 3. Episode 3
    With the ABC killer still on the loose, Hercule realises that only he holds the key to the murders. He faces a race against time to stop the bloodbath.
